Heritage: Palestine

The olive tree represents more than just an olive tree. It’s special, physically captivating with a life spanning thousands of years. Its deep cultural symbolism has been engraved in human history. In religion, it's a symbol of peace and faithfulness, to its people, it's a sign of resistance and resilience, to all, the perfect encapsulation of the beauty of Palestine.

Known for its rich cultural heritage and resilience through generations of displacement, Palestine is a land that’s suffered, endured, and resisted. It's home of grand cuisine and cultural dances, like the Dabke. Palestine is beautiful, but it’s beauty is being tormented in war

73,000 casualties; at least 20,000 being children. What’s going on is nothing short of an attempted genocide. 36 hospitals, 432 school buildings, 90% of the Gaza strip, all destroyed. The flour massacre, the Al-Masawi attacks, the killing of Hind Rajab and her family, just to name a few. Voices must be made heard, we cannot not stay silent.

I made these shirts in support of the ongoing resistance in Palestine; details encapsulating a beauty that must not be forgotten. The Iris Haynei as Palestine’s national flower, the key on the collar symbolizing all the homes lost, and ultimately the olive branches in the shape of a north star; the same star I made to represent guidance and hope, a hope it will all get better.

Thousands of deaths, hundreds of thousands of injuries, millions worldwide being affected. We must not stay silent, not until war is over.

We must act until Palestine is free.
